Cooper Joseph Kendall (29) is a classically trained American tenor from a small coastal town in Connecticut. In 2024, under Jan Schultsz and Daniel Behle, he completed a Specialized Master’s degree in Lied Interpretation at the Musik-Akademie Basel, and received the prize for best Master’s thesis project. He is currently enrolled in a developmental study year in Basel, studying with world renowned local Mezzo-Soprano Tanja Ariane Baumgartner.

Kendall received his first Master’s degree in Vocal Performance from the Mannes College of Music in New York City (2020), where he worked with Arthur Levy and opera coach Anthony Manoli, as well as a Bachelor’s degree from the New England Conservatory in Boston (2018), where he studied under dramatic soprano Jane Eaglen.

During his years in Boston, Kendall received a very expansive phonetic and spoken training in American and British English, Italian, German, and French. During these years, he worked hard to develop a strong sense and instinct for sounds.

Aside from performing on various stages around the world, participating in various prestigious masterclasses, and self producing two CDs, Kendall also has a strong background in hospitality and service. As a son of two self employed chefs, Kendall grew up serving and preparing food; managing a team, and overseeing social media and website design operations.
